The PARA project studies interactions between concurrency and functional programming. This year, we completed a 22000-line long mechanical proof of a concurrent garbage collector designed by us in 1993. We defined a higher-order distributed language with error recovery based on the join-calculus and we started its implementation. Theoretical results have also been expressed on explicit substitutions, incremental computations, and abstract reduction systems.
