Our PhD students took part in the VAST contest 2009(See the URL http://www.cs.umd.edu/hcil/VASTchallenge08/ .) and won our team two awards. The primary task of the challenge was to identify the source (person) involved in disseminating classified information out of an embassy, through IP addresses use and social networking activities(See the URLs http://hcil.cs.umd.edu/localphp/hcil/vast/archive/task.php?ts_id=120 and http://hcil.cs.umd.edu/localphp/hcil/vast/archive/task.php?ts_id=119 .).

A paper [65] published on the occasion of the “15th Anniversary of the IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics: Celebrating a Success Story” mentioned the 2000 Graph Visualization survey [60] (co-authored by Guy Melançon) as the most cited IEEE TVCG paper in the past 15 years(See the URL http://www.computer.org/portal/web/csdl/doi/10.1109/TVCG.2009.82 . Google Scholar indicates the paper has been cited close to 700 times.)
We successfully applied to the“Equipe associée” program together with colleagues from King's college in London (UK) (see the section on Dynamic Graphs).
GRAVITÉ together with LaBRI will host the next edition of the IEEE/Eurographics EuroVis International Conference.
