### Local fields

Mploc is a `C` library for computing in p -adic fields and their
unramified extensions. The focus is mainly on for prime
p , and unramified extensions of . The ability to
compute in these structures is important to several applications,
such as point counting or building curves with a prescribed
number of points.

The Mploc library is already
distributed(http://www.loria.fr/~thome/software/mploc ) and
used, although several performance improvements are sought. The library
presently gathers 8,000 lines of `C` source code.
