Herbs

Herbs (HAMAP Expert Rule Based System) provides computer support for the reannotation of complete bacterial proteomes. It is being developed in collaboration with the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (Geneva) in the framework of the HAMAP project. Herbs is able to check the consistency of the annotation of proteins involved in metabolic pathways at the organism level. Herbs consists of an inference engine, based on the system Jess (Java Expert System Shell), and a knowledge base containing the facts and rules of interest.
